For Professionals and Referrers

Independent X-Ray & Ultrasound is an independent, family-owned practice which has been providing services to Maryborough and the surrounding districts since November 2006. The business is owned and operated by Jim Burstow and his wife Clare.  Jim has been a Sonographer and Radiographer for over 20 years. Jim and Clare also own and operate Childers Medical Imaging which is situated in Childers.

 

Our reporting Radiologist is Dr Robert Taylor. Dr Taylor’s practice, Fraser Coast Radiology, is situated in Hervey Bay and now offers MRI.  Dr Taylor also works out of our Maryborough office twice a week and offers a range of ultrasound and CT procedures.

 

Images are recorded onto CD and given to the patient after their examination. The same set of images is transmitted via teleradiology for reporting. Reports are forwarded to the referring practitioner either electronically using Medical Objects or by fax. This process usually takes no more than two working days. Urgent reports can be provided with minimal delay where possible. Dr Taylor can always be contacted for verbal reporting in very urgent circumstances.
